5:2 Money Diet

With New Years just around the corner it’s time to start thinking of your New Years resolutions. One of the most common resolutions is to give up a bad habit and/or start a diet. Starting a diet may start out with the strongest resolve but inevitably end much earlier than anticipated. This New Year why not try our 5:2 Money Diet and trim the fat from your finances.

The concept is simple: Save and do not spend money for 5 days and on the remaining 2 days do all your purchases. It really is that simple! No other rules.

If you find it too difficult NOT to spend at all for 2 days then, set yourself a target that instead of spending the usual you will spend only a fraction say 25%.

By trying this out for a few weeks you will be surprised with how you will save – both time and money.

You will need to plan your purchases in advance the added benefit is that this will improve your financial management skills.

You will end up spending less on items that you don’t really need as you will be focusing more on what you actually need rather than going for those impulse purchases.

Do try out our 5:2 Money Diet and let us know how you get along in the comments section.

  1. Appreciating the time and energy you put into your website and in depth information you offer. It’s good to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same outdated rehashed information. Wonderful read! I’ve saved your site and I’m adding your RSS feeds to my Google account.
