Nutritious Jowar and Tomato Pancake

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup jowar (white millet) flour
  • ¼ cup whole wheat flour
  • ¼ cup maize flour
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onions
  • ½ cup finely chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander
  • 2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 ¼ tsp oil for greasing and cooking

For serving:

  • Coriander green garlic chutney

Method:

  • Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well to make a batter of pouring consistency using enough water.
  • Heat a non stick tava and grease it lightly using ¼ tsp of oil.
  • Pour a ladleful of the batter on the non-stick tava and spread it in acircular motion to make a 125 mm (5”) diameter circle.
  • Cook, using ¼ tsp of oil till it turns golden brown in colour from both the sides.
  • Repeat steps 3 and 4 to make more pancakes
  • Serve hot with coriander green garlic chutney.
